The normal range for Cortisol is 160 – 600 nmol/L. <h2>How to prepare:</h2> <span style="color: #fa6980;">** Take your test around 9am in the morning *** </span>This is when your Cortisol level will be at your nocturnal peak. <ul> <li>Avoid exercise before you take your test - Physical exercise temporarily increases the levels of cortisol in your blood.</li> <li>Biotin supplements can affect results. Do not take them for two days before the test. Discuss this with your doctor if you have prescribed biotin supplements.</li> <li>Hormonal contraception can affect the results, so it’s recommended you take a break and use an alternative barrier contraception to get more accurate results. A presence of antibodies to H. pylori means you either are currently infected or have been infected in the past. The test cannot tell how long you have had the infection for. <h2>How to prepare:</h2> In general, there's nothing you have to do before the H. pylori blood test, unless otherwise stated by a doctor.

Normally, a person has two sex chromosomes, either two X chromosomes (female) or one X and one Y chromosome (male). However, in sex chromosome aneuploidies, there is an extra or missing sex chromosome, leading to various physical and developmental abnormalities. For example, some common sex chromosome aneuploidies include Turner syndrome (or Monosomy X), which results from a missing X chromosome in females, and Klinefelter syndrome, which results from an extra X chromosome in males. These conditions can affect physical features, such as height and fertility, as well as cognitive and behavioural development.   <h3>When will I get the results?</h3> The results will be sent to you directly in 5-7 days of the sample being received at the laboratory. The results report will clearly state whether the conditions have been detected so you can take this information to your GP for further discussion and investigation if needed.
