Testing with a standard PSA Prostate Test results in 55% accuracy in detecting prostate cancer. Testing with EpiSwitch® PSE improves your results to 94% accuracy in detection.
Prostate cancer is a concern for many men. Its risk increases with many factors including: age, family history, genetics and ethnicity. The most common prostate cancer test measures your PSA (prostate specific antigen), a protein produced by your prostate, and by prostate cancer cells which increases as you get older and your prostate increases. However, many men who take the PSA test alone and have results of a raised PSA do not always have cancer. By taking the EpiSwitch® PSE Advanced Blood Test alongside or following a private PSA Test, you can make a better-informed decision about your next steps.

Who should take the EpiSwitch® PSE?

  • Any man who is being screened for, or is concerned about, prostate cancer.
  • You may have already been told you have a high or rising PSA level.
  • You may have trouble urinating, or have other prostate associated symptoms.
  • You may want peace of mind before starting on a prostate biopsy or treatment plan.
 

How does the EpiSwitch® PSE Test work?

The EpiSwitch PSE test uses a small sample of blood to measure 5 vital epigenetic changes in your immune cells, and combines these with your PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen PSA Test) score to boost accuracy. A secure report is returned to our doctors within around 5 days after the lab receives your sample, and they will explain the result to you. What do the results tell you?

Your doctor will receive a personalised EpiSwitch® PSE report informing you if you have a ‘low likelihood’ or ‘high likelihood’ of prostate cancer.
  • A 'low likelihood' PSE result can offer peace of mind and reduce unnecessary biopsies and over-treatment. This result is consistent with the absence of cancer in more than 9 out of 10 men.
  • A 'high likelihood' PSE result can help your doctor immediately refer you to the right next step. This result is consistent with cancer being confirmed in more than 9 out of 10 men.
After receiving your report, our doctors will consider this result along with your history to recommend appropriate next steps.  

Process for the EpiSwitch® PSE Advanced Blood Test

Once you have decided the EpiSwitch® PSE advanced blood test is right for you: Step 1 - Click "book now" and choose to have the sample collect by a professional at home, or in-clinic. Step 2 - Goodbody will send you a test kit to be used at the time of your appointment Step 3 – Receive your test results within 5 working days of the laboratory receiving your sample, showing whether you have a ‘low-likelihood’ or ‘high-likelihood' PSE result.  

Important Information

To book EpiSwitch® PSE test, you must have completed a PSA test within the last 6 months. If you have not done so, you can click here to book a Goodbody PSA test or you can add the PSA test through the checkout process. This test is not available if you have received treatment for Prostate cancer within the last 4 weeks. Goodbody will post to you a specialised testing kit to be used by a qualified professional only.
